News Release
11/03/2009
Despite the down economy, it's been a busy few months for the Polaris team. Companies are still looking for ways to grow or maintain their businesses and digital marketing is often the most effective strategy.
Most prominently, three new building-industry client websites have been launched during the past month:
Hyland Construction. A large commercial general contractor based in the Eugene, Oregon area, Hyland Construction had an old, dated website that didn't effectively portray the quality and professionalism of the company or their work. The new website, launched in early October, does a much better job of communicating who they are with words and imagery. Behind the scenes, most of the website is controllable by non-technical Hyland administrative staff which will allow them to routinely update the website with new project photos and other often-changing information.

BuilderLink. Originally an online estimating system for builders, in early October Softwood, Inc. made public its upgraded version of BuilderLink. This newest version still contains the popular estimating module, but has added a much more valuable social media area designed exclusively for building industry professionals. The new system may remind some of FaceBook or LinkedIn, but the goal is to provide contractors and others with a working and collaborative online tool (free), rather than an after-hours hobby. The first phase of the launch included current users of the estimating system. The second phase of the launch, occurring November 3, 2009, will be targeting contractors in the San Francisco East Bay Area.
Fire Tower Engineered Timber. Bringing a modern perspective to a time-honored craft, Fire Tower is an enterprising firm specializing in the engineering and design of timber structures, including light lumber, heavy and curved timber, timber frame and post & beam structures. Based in Rhode Island, we feel that this is the premier engineering firm in the US when it comes to heavy timber wood structures. If you want to see some amazing wood structures, check out the portfolio area of their website ("Our Work"). Their old website had a nice look, but the content and functionality didn't come close to showing off their actual brilliance. As a plus, their entire website is easy to update by non-technical staff.
